Oleksandr Sirous
Oleksandr Sirous is a new media artist, performer, and sound artist from Kharkiv, Ukraine. He works at the intersection of technology, nature, and politics, creating experimental systems that reveal fragile links between digital environments and real-world crises. Using AI, game logic, and real-time data, he builds interactive spaces that reflect collapse, adaptation, and resistance—often referencing Ukraine’s environmental devastation and digital warfare.
Sirous is an active member of the Ukrainian new media collective Photinus Studio and the creator of a mapping projection for an installation presented at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale. He has been invited to major international programs such as Ars Electronica (2023) and the research program at ZKM | Karlsruhe, and has participated in key residencies including Basis Frankfurt, Morpho Antwerp, and D6 Newcastle. He serves as a mentor at KAMA – Kyiv Academy of Media Arts and has lectured at Saint Lucas Antwerp, Update Festival, and the RIXC Festival in Latvia.
His projects function as open-ended environments for scrutiny and interaction, treating technology not as a neutral medium but as an active force shaping— and distorting —our perception of contemporary reality.
